Overview
The Kopanong Local Municipality’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) is a statutory document prepared in terms of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000). It serves as the municipality’s principal strategic planning instrument, guiding development priorities, resource allocation, and service delivery for the period 2022–2027.
This 5th Review & Amendment (2026/27) ensures alignment with:
- Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 – promoting accountable, responsive, and inclusive governance.
- Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act No. 56 of 2003) – ensuring financial sustainability and compliance.
- Municipal Structures Act, 1998 (Act No. 117 of 1998) – reinforcing cooperative governance and community participation.
- National and Provincial development frameworks, including the National Development Plan (NDP 2030) and the Free State Growth and Development Strategy.
